Racing driver Jann Mardenborough and INTERPOL join the roster at Kaspersky SAS 2025

October 20, 2025

Kaspersky has unveiled two new headline speakers for the highly anticipated Security Analyst Summit (SAS) 2025: professional racing driver and gamer-to-racer pioneer Jann Mardenborough and a Cybercrime Intelligence Officer from INTERPOL. Their participation underscores the event's unique blend of cross-industry insights and deep-dive technical collaboration in the fight against cybercrime. The summit will take place in Khao Lak, Thailand, from October 26–29.

SAS 2025 is curated to foster a unique environment where cutting-edge research meets creative inspiration. The event’s theme, drawing from the expansive worlds of automotive-centric games, sets the stage for a dynamic exchange of ideas. Attendees can expect a rich agenda featuring keynote presentations and technical sessions that delve into the most pressing issues in cybersecurity, from automotive vulnerabilities and AI-powered threats to global APT campaigns.

Gamers, Threats & Acceleration: Where Racing Meets Cybersecurity

In a high-speed panel session titled “Gamers, Threats & Acceleration,” professional racing driver Jann Mardenborough will join cybersecurity visionary Eugene Kaspersky to explore the thrilling parallels between motorsport and cyber warfare. What do elite racing and elite hacking have in common? More than you think. From virtual circuits to real racetracks, from simulated threats to real-world cyberattacks, this discussion will dive into how the skills, mindset, and technologies from gaming and high-performance racing intersect with the world of cybersecurity.

“My journey from gamer to professional racing driver has been built on resilience, adapting, learning, and pushing forward through every challenge. I’m really looking forward to sharing this experience and discussing the parallels between racing and cybersecurity with Eugene Kaspersky at SAS 2025,” says Jann Mardenborough.

Mardenborough currently competes in the 2025 GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup. His remarkable journey from sim racing to professional motorsport was depicted in the 2023 biographical film "Gran Turismo," where he was portrayed by Archie Madekwe and served as co-producer, stunt driver, and technical consultant on the production.

Operation Serengeti 2.0: A Blueprint for Public-Private Partnership

Paul Pajares, a Cybercrime Intelligence Officer with over 15 years of experience, will present a session on “Operation Serengeti 2.0: Dismantling a Massive Cybercrime and Fraud Network.” This talk will detail the recent INTERPOL-led operation that disrupted a vast cybercrime ring across the African region, resulting in over 1,200 arrests and the recovery of USD 97.4 million.

The session with INTERPOL will highlight the critical contributions of private sector partners, including Kaspersky, emphasizing how collaboration, information sharing, and assistance led to significant takedowns. It will also look at the challenges faced by law enforcement and the private sector, underscoring the immense importance of breaking down silos to foster harmonious and effective cooperation against evolving cyber threats.

“We’re excited to welcome such diverse and outstanding speakers to SAS 2025,” comments Eugene Kaspersky, CEO of Kaspersky. “From Jann Mardenborough’s high-performance racing experience, to the front lines of global cybercrime investigation with INTERPOL, our audience will gain unique insights into the challenges we face, and how collaboration is key to protecting our digital world.”
