Kaspersky reveals SAS 2025 will focus on automotive and global cyber threats

September 11, 2025

Kaspersky has unveiled early insights into the highly anticipated Security Analyst Summit (SAS) 2025, which will take place in Khao Lak, Thailand, this October 26–29. This exclusive four-day event will bring together nearly 200 participants from all over the world. This year’s agenda puts a spotlight on the fast-evolving field of automotive security, reflecting its critical role in our connected world.

The upcoming SAS will be driven by the bold concept, inspired by the energy of open-world games built around cars and city life. Known for blending serious dialogue with immersive, creative settings, the event will feature a dynamic agenda of keynote talks and technical deep-dives, covering topics from automotive security to advanced persistent threats (APTs), AI, and vulnerabilities.

Security specialists Alina Tan, George Chen, and Chee Peng will share how dash cameras are becoming a new attack surface and explore what this means for connected vehicles, personal privacy, and public surveillance. Artem Zinenko from Kaspersky ICS CERT will expand the automotive flaws narrative with his talk about how a zero-day vulnerability in a publicly accessible web service can become a supply chain vector of attacks on a car, whilst independent security researcher Daniel Erazo will present his findings from examining Kia’s head unit.

Going beyond automotive security, Kira Chen, a senior security researcher at DARKNAVY, will explore seamless interconnectivity features and analyze how attackers might exploit these modules in modern smartphones. Independent researchers Athanasios Giatsos and Peter Geissler will delve into browser extension security and embedded devices threats, respectively.

The APT agenda will be represented with several engaging talks. For example, Guangyuan Zhao and Xing Lan from NSFOCUS will reveal targeted attacks on Chinese AI infrastructure platforms. Sojun Ryu and Omar Amin from Kaspersky Global Research and Analysis team will shed light into a new Bluenoroff complex crypto and data stealing campaign.

“We are proud to present a program that tackles the most urgent cybersecurity challenges of our time, from connected vehicles threats to AI and beyond. With insights from leading experts across the globe, and some secret talks still under the wrap, the summit promises to be an exceptional forum for sharing knowledge and strategies to strengthen the digital ecosystem, all while carrying forward the unique energy and spirit of SAS,” comments Dmitry Galov, head of the Kaspersky Global Research and Analysis Team in Russia and CIS.

SAS 2025 will also host the finals of the international Capture The Flag (CTF) competition, offering an $18,000 prize pot. The top eight teams, determined during an online stage of the contest, and five regional winners of new Kaspersky{CTF} competitions are now set to compete for at the final stage at Security Analyst Summit in Khao Lak, Thailand, from October 25-28.
