Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content management solutions, announces that Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 has topped the “Technologies” category of the nationwide “Software of the Year” awards, organized by Russia’s main communication portal Mail.ru and Softline, a leader in software licensing, training and consulting in Russia.
Over a period of one month, more than 15,000 visitors to the Soft@Mail.Ru (http://soft.mail.ru) portal voted for the best software products in seven categories – “Web Site”, “Design”, “Help”, “Support”, “Functionality”, “Interface” and “Technology”.
Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 was the only antivirus product among the nominees and came top of the “Technologies” category.
“We are very pleased with the result and believe it is fully deserved,” commented Oleg Gudilin, Head of Market Research at Kaspersky Lab for the EEMEA region. “Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 integrates Kaspersky Lab’s latest technological developments, placing this security solution firmly in the vanguard of antivirus protection.”
“We are glad to see that users appreciated the efforts of those companies that have launched new improved versions of their products this year. Kaspersky Internet Security 2009’s win is further proof of that,” says Stanislav Zharov, Manager of Internet Projects at Softline. “The results of the voting reflect a positive trend in the development of Russian software as well as new achievements.”
Launched in 2007, “Software of the Year” is the first set of national awards for the software industry in Russia. Its goal is to support Russian software vendors and promote their products among users.
