Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content management solutions, announces that its CEO and co-founder Eugene Kaspersky addressed the international conference Cooperation against Cybercrime held under the aegis of the Council of Europe on March 10-11 in Strasbourg.

The conference, held in the Palace of Europe in Strasbourg, was attended by over 280 IT security experts, statesmen and representatives of private business from more than 70 countries.

The conference addressed the global challenges of cybercrime and was dedicated to combating it in all its guises. The participants also broached the issue of coordinating the actions of law enforcement agencies in different countries to investigate computer crime and acts of cyberterrorism.

At the opening session Eugene Kaspersky talked about the main factors contributing to the success of cybercrime and how it is likely to evolve in the near future. The Kaspersky Lab CEO also explained what measures he believes the international community needs to take to prevent cybercriminals causing disasters on a global scale and what can be done to reduce the negative effects of computer crime on the world economy.

“The Cooperation against Cybercrime conference is one of the most important international forums dedicated to the problem of cybercrime. Statesmen, businessmen and independent experts discuss how to effectively combat cybercrime and create a secure IT infrastructure worldwide. I am confident that this conference takes us another step closer to a solution at the global level,” commented Eugene Kaspersky.
