Kaspersky Lab announces the release of Maintenance Pack 1 for Kaspersky Security 8.0 for Microsoft Exchange Servers

Kaspersky Lab announces the release of Maintenance Pack 1 for Kaspersky Security 8.0 for Microsoft Exchange Servers. This major update for Kaspersky Lab’s corporate e-mail security solution brings a number of new features aimed at better manageability and more efficient protection from spam. Among the most important innovations are support for the cloud-based Kaspersky Security Network, a new Enforced Anti-Spam Updates Service, and a new Dashboard for real-time monitoring and full support for Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 Database Availability Group technology.

Kaspersky Security for Microsoft Exchange Servers ensures world-class protection from malware and spam for corporate e-mail servers based on Microsoft Exchange. The solution is part of the Kaspersky Open Space Security product range, which also contains other efficient packages for different parts of corporate IT infrastructure, including those for protecting mail and file servers and endpoints.

Maintenance Pack 1 provides full support for the Database Availability Group - a technology introduced in Microsoft Exchange Server 2010. This support, together with some of the new features of Kaspersky Lab’s solution, reduces administration time by introducing centralized management, reporting and backup functionality. Also key to better manageability is the new Dashboard - a real-time, one-stop monitoring console for all key indicators, such as protection and database status.

Protection from spam has also been improved with a new anti-spam engine, which brings both a better detection rate and a performance increase. Another technology aimed at increasing the detection rate for unsolicited mail is the Enforced Anti-Spam Updates Service. By introducing a method of rapid distribution of anti-spam database updates, it allows to react to and block any spam outbreak faster than ever. Finally, support for the Kaspersky Security Network takes anti-spam protection to the highest level, with real-time information from millions of users of Kaspersky Lab’s products worldwide.

Maintenance Pack 1 for Kaspersky Security 8.0 for Microsoft Exchange Servers is available now to Kaspersky Lab’s customers. You can read more about the updates solution on the official website.
