Kaspersky Lab, an international data-security software developer, announces the launch of the new information service, the Virus Top Twenty. This service will provide information about the widest spreading malicious programs from the past month.
The main differentiating feature of the Virus Top Twenty is found in the statistics database upon which the data analysis is conducted. Unlike similar services, Kaspersky Lab accumulates and reports virus-activity information from home and corporate users as well as providers of free e-mail services. Because of this widespread participation, those involved in the overall virus analysis are not only users of KasperskyTM Anti-Virus but other antivirus software also. Overall, this type of primary data compilation allows for drawing the largest and most complete picture illustrating the real state of spreading malicious programs.
The Virus Top Twenty is published and available at the beginning of each month on the Kaspersky Lab Web site. Subscribers to Kaspersky Lab' news receive this service automatically and directly via e-mail.
