Russian solution takes first place in comparative tests
Kaspersky® Antivirus Personal 5.0 came top in Stiftung Warentest's February testing of IT security solutions. Virus scannerss, firewalls, and integrated solutions were all tested by the organisation, founded by the German government to provide independent testing of goods and services available on the German market. Solutions were tested on a range of criteria, with a particular focus on ease of use and documentation. Kaspersky Antivirus Personal 5.0 was named the winner, partly due to the speed of detection. The solution also performed highly effectively, detecting 799 viruses out of the 800 used in the test. The reviewers also highlighted the fact that updates to the antivirus databases are released every hour.
