Kaspersky Lab, a leading information security software developer, announces the commercial release for Kaspersky® Anti-Virus 5.1 for Microsoft ISA Server. In comparison with the preceding version, the new release has a significant number of technical upgrades which significantly extend program functionality.
The new product provides antivirus control over all files which enter the system via HTTP and FTP protocol via the Microsoft Internet and Acceleration Server. The program acts as a filter, which processes incoming traffic in order to extract controlled objects and subsequently analyse them for malicious code. When infected objects are detected, the program will prevent their onward transmission, and neutralises them, thus completely excluding the possibility of viruses penetrating the local network.
One of the most fundamental upgrades to Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Microsoft ISA Server is extended support for FTP protocol. This increases the effectiveness of those applications which use an extended range of FTP commands without reducing the level of protection.
The solution also provides new features for administrators, who can now receive notification via email about new problems, and initiate automatic operations using standard Microsoft ISA tools. Additionally, these standard tools are now available to administrators not only to diagnose network attacks but also to detect increased virus activity. Notification is not issued about every infected file which is detected, but only when the number of such files detected exceeds the limit set for a given period of time.
Finally, the antivirus configuration options and diagnostic log functions have been extended in comparison with the previous version. This enables administrators to receive more detailed information about program performance and manage information options, and simplifies diagnostic work.
