Kaspersky Lab release Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 and Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0
Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content management solutions, announces the English-language release of its seventh-generation products, Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 and Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0, which protect home users from online security threats, for distribution worldwide.
The version 7.0 personal products are based on the three-point protection concept developed by Kaspersky Lab. Detection of threats is based on three main methods: signature-based, proactive and heuristic. This multi-tier protection system is unique and affords the home user unrivalled protection. Version 7.0 includes a new-generation heuristic analyzer, which detects and disinfects unknown malicious programs based on their behavior.
The new products build on the technology that underpinned Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 and Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0, which were released in 2006 and are renowned for their effectiveness, reliability and user-friendly interfaces. Therefore Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 and Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 offer all the advantages of the version 6.0 products, while new cutting-edge technologies enhance performance still further. The firewall has been optimized for applications that make heavy use of an Internet connection. This has reduced delays caused by exchanging data over the network to such an extent that they have become almost imperceptible, which is significant for users who like multiplayer computer games.
Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0, the integrated solution that protects home users from all types of online threats, also includes a number of improvements that greatly enhance its functionality and protection capabilities. The new Parental Control module, which includes a linguistic analyzer and blacklists forbidden web addresses, allows parents to control their children’s Internet browsing by blocking access to portals that display violence, pornography and drug propaganda. A new Privacy Control module protects confidential data and prevents the theft of potentially lucrative personal information, including email addresses, passwords, bank details and credit card numbers.
“We present a new version of our personal products, which is the result of ten years’ experience and includes state-of-the-art technologies for combating IT threats. The seventh version of Kaspersky Anti-Virus and Kaspersky Internet Security is an improvement on our sixth-generation products. These improvements focus on improving the quality of protection and extending the range of threats that the product protects from. We have also put much effort into reducing the load on the system caused by the antivirus solution. This is a common issue for antivirus products. I hope that users will receive version 7.0 as kindly as they did its predecessor,” said Veniamin Levtsov, Kaspersky Lab Product Director.
Since Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 includes components that protect from all common IT threats, the solution can be used to protect the IT infrastructure of small businesses that have a small number of computers, for which deployment of sophisticated corporate IT security solutions is not cost effective.
Although the functionality and protection provided by Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 has been significantly enhanced, the product is even easier to manage than its predecessor, and even inexperienced users will find it easy to install and configure.
Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 and Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 were developed with Microsoft Windows Vista in mind and are compatible with 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the operating system. The products have been awarded the Certified for Windows Vista logo. The products’ interface matches Microsoft Windows Vista in style and fits well into the operating system’s visual environment.
