Kaspersky Lab, an international data security software developer and GFI (www.gfi.com), a leading provider of Windows-based network and content security products, announce the integration of Kaspersky Lab anti-virus technology into the protection systems of GFI MailSecurity for Microsoft Exchange and SMTP e-mail gateways. GFI MailSecurity for Exchange/SMTP 8 is an e-mail content security product that uses multiple anti-virus engines, exploit detection, an HTML threats engine, and content and attachment checking to scan incoming and outgoing e-mail for viruses, exploits and attacks. The recently released version 8 includes many key features, the most notable of which is its new Trojan and executable analyzer. This way the software enables users to effectively combat all types of threats transmissible via e-mail before they reach the mailboxes of corporate network users. Setting GFI MailSecurity apart is its combined integration of several anti-virus technologies, virus scanning of message body and file attachments, functionality preventing unauthorized e-mail gateway penetration, and the means to neutralize infected script-programs, .exe files as well as other objects. Integration with Kaspersky® Anti-Virus significantly expands GFI MailSecurity's anti-virus defenses. Now customers are protected by the absolute latest technology that is the result of Kaspersky Lab' fourteen intensive years of experience in the battle against viruses and the subsequent unparalleled skills of its experts. Kaspersky Anti-Virus is well known for the unsurpassed depth of its object scanning, the high rate at which new virus signatures are released, and its unique heuristic technology that effectively neutralizes unknown viruses. "GFI MailSecurity is one of the few software solutions defending corporate e-mail systems that combines several anti-virus technologies. The unique characteristics of Kaspersky Anti-Virus successfully adds to the functionality of our product and allows us to provide our customers with the highest possible level of protection against malicious code," said Nick Galea, GFI CEO. "Also, the reasonable pricing of this module makes it affordable to have a third virus engine over and above the two already included in the product." "Today e-mail is by far the most popular means used to spread malicious programs. With the corporate sector especially hit hard by viruses, every year suffering significant losses that include more than just material damage. For this reason full-scale security for all IT-infrastructure elements is crucial for it to function reliably. We are pleased to work with GFI in integrating Kaspersky Anti-Virus into the GFI MailSecurity system. Doing so will without doubt contribute to the high level of virus protection received by users of this popular solution", noted Vitaly Bezrodnykh, Kaspersky Lab Commercial Director.
