Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content management solutions, announces the official opening of its Turkish regional office in Istanbul. The new office, headed by Murat Göçe, will provide operational management and sales support for Kaspersky Lab products in the region.

The official opening during an economic downturn reflects the importance that Kaspersky Lab places in the Turkish market and the potential it sees for growth – the Istanbul office has set itself the goal of increasing sales by over 50% in 2009. Speaking at the official opening, Murat Göçe, the head of Kaspersky Lab Turkey, said the new regional office will bring the company closer to its customers. He added that while Kaspersky Lab is currently one of the top three antivirus vendors in terms of end-user market sales in Turkey, the company will also be actively targeting the commercial sector in 2009.
Garry Kondakov, managing director of Kaspersky Lab EEMEA, highlighted the importance that the Turkish market plays for Kaspersky Lab. “The opening of our new regional office in Turkey will allow us to significantly enhance the quality of services provided to both end customers and partners and will increase our business outreach in the region. Murat Göçe, who will be heading up the Turkish office is a highly professional manager who has years of experience in the Turkish market. I’m confident that his leadership will provide the impetus our company needs to become one of the most successful IT security companies in all segments of the Turkish market,” Kondakov commented on the opening of the Turkish office.
