Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content and threat management solutions opens its territory office in Riga, Latvia. The new office's main functions include strengthening the company's brand, promoting the company's interests in the Baltic countries and supporting and coordinating partner activities in the region.
Kaspersky Lab's new business unit in the Baltic countries is headed by Andis Shteinmanis. Andis has over 9 years experience of running various companies in the Baltics and other European countries. Prior to joining Kaspersky Lab, Andis worked for IBM Misys Banking Systems and "Latvian Railways".
Commenting on the strategic goals of the new territory office in Riga, Garry Kondakov, Managing Director of Kaspersky Lab EEMEA said, "One of the cornerstones of the company's strategy is a desire to be closer to our clients and partners. This way, we can better understand the local specifics and interests of our users in different locations. Such an approach was key to the company's success on the international market - Kaspersky Lab is the world's largest privately-owned antivirus company, not only leading the antivirus software retail market of many countries, but also achieving considerable success in the corporate sector, first and foremost in the Eastern European, Middle Eastern and African markets."
Highlighting Kaspersky Lab's development plans for the Baltics, Andis Shteinmanis, Managing Director of Kaspersky Lab Baltics said, "Despite a reduction in the IT budgets of a number of large companies during the crisis of 2008-2009, the demand for antivirus software has remained stable. The Internet is still a source of threats which each year become more sophisticated. From the very moment that Kaspersky Lab was set up, the advanced technologies integrated into its solutions were the company's priority; we put all of our efforts into constantly being one step ahead of our competitors, providing our users with the best protection against any kind of cyberthreats. This is why Kaspersky Lab's corporate products have acquired such an excellent reputation in many countries of the world and I believe that we will greatly increase our market share in the corporate sector in the Baltic countries."
Kaspersky Lab's solutions will be distributed in Latvia by Datoru Drošības Tehnoloģijas (DDT), the company's authorized partner for over a decade. The partnership alliance between the two brands has proved to be highly successful - for many years now, Kaspersky Lab's products have retained their market-leading position in the IT security sector.
