Kaspersky Lab announces its participation in the opening ceremony of the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing

Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content and threat management solutions, announces its participation in the opening ceremony of the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing. In the run-up to the official opening of the Cultural Center, the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, visited the Company's booth.

During the event, Kaspersky Lab's representatives, headed by Natalya Kaspersky, Chairperson of the Board of Directors, Co-Founder of Kaspersky Lab, demonstrated the Company's latest developments to Dmitry Medvedev. Commenting on Kaspersky Lab's participation in the event, Natalya Kaspersky said "We are proud to be involved in the work of the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing. Chinese market is among the strategic regions for Kaspersky Lab, and we are delighted to have an opportunity to contribute to joint activities of Russia and China".

Speaking of the innovations, shown to Dmitry Medvedev, Vladislav Shcherbinin, Database Development Group Manager of Kaspersky Lab, mentioned "We showed the President one of the subsystems of Kaspersky Lab's ground-breaking reporting portal – a subsystem designed to collect and display information about network attacks and malicious hosting on a map of the world. This information is collected via the Kaspersky Security Network (KSN) from Kaspersky Lab's clients spread around the globe who agreed to participate in KSN. This subsystem allows the centre of an attack to be plotted on a map and demonstrates that we are keeping our finger on the pulse on a worldwide basis", Dmitry Medvedev was also shown the principle of operation of the "911" service, where any user can send a message describing the virus problems that they experience. Kaspersky Lab's representatives also showed the President the training course developed to teach users of different ages and experience how to operate a computer safely.
