New features for advanced privacy protection available in the UK from March 30, 2010

Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of Internet threat management solutions that protect against all forms of malicious software including viruses, spyware, hackers and spam, announces Kaspersky Mobile Security 9.0, a software solution designed to protect smartphone users’ privacy and safeguard children.
Kaspersky Mobile Security 9.0 is a multifunctional product, which provides comprehensive protection against all kinds of threats. It consolidates Kaspersky Lab’s position as the technological leader in this field with the addition of new and unique features including contact privacy, improved encryption and enhanced anti-theft features. Significant usability research has also been carried out, resulting in a completely new style interface.
"Those of us with smartphones use them every day to send and receive personal text messages, make calls, access the Internet, and communicate via social networks. Smartphones store lots of information about our private lives", says Sergey Nevstruev, Director of Mobile Services at Kaspersky Lab. "With the new version of Kaspersky Mobile Security we went even further into the domain of privacy protection for mobile users, be it personal data leaks, somebody gaining temporary access to your phone, or annoying calls and texts."
The new Privacy Protection feature enables users to hide information about contacts they wish to keep confidential. People have many reasons for doing this, including concealing details of employment agencies, high-profile contacts and even family members from everyone’s gaze. With the touch of a button, users of Kaspersky Mobile Security 9.0 can mark contacts as ‘private’, meaning that no trace of them will appear in contact lists, call logs, texts or incoming calls. Anyone else using the smartphone will be completely unaware of the hidden information.
Besides innovative privacy technology, Kaspersky Mobile Security also includes enhancements to the Anti-Theft feature that a smartphone owner can use to block the device if it is lost or stolen, wipe its memory, locate it via GPS and receive notification of its new number if the SIM card is changed. Once it has been blocked remotely, the smartphone can now display a prearranged message that will enable any honest finder to return it to its rightful owner.
Kaspersky’s Anti-Spam functionality allows users to create their own personal call and text barring lists at the click of a button. If a call or text arrives from an unrecognised number, you can simply add it to a blacklist to block any future messages or calls received from that number. This not only prevents irritating unsolicited calls, but also acts as a useful tool to combat bullying amongst schoolchildren. Added child protection can be easily achieved by blocking access to numbers for adult services, while parents appreciate the KMS-9 GPS location facility, which enables them to locate their children in cases of emergency.
As you would expect from Kaspersky Lab, the solution also incorporates highly effective protection against malware and network attacks.
