As a response to the reality of modern network-borne threats a special sub-set of signatures for viruses In-The-Wild (ITW) has been recently introduced by Kaspersky Lab. This sub-set of Kaspersky antivirus signatures has been implemented into ZyWALL UTM to effectively provide the first layer of protection and to stop ITW viruses at wire speed, before virus infections can reach the desktop. Kaspersky ITW virus list is maintained and updated constantly based on data gathered by the Kaspersky Virus Lab. Combined with ZyXEL's innovative “Stream-based” scanning technology, ZyWALL UTM delivers high performance ITW virus protection.

With ZyXEL's latest “Stream-based” virus scanning technology, ZyWALL UTM passes every individual packet to be scanned by the antivirus engine. This process requires no additional memory or packet reassembly process and therefore does not impact on throughput, regardless of file size.
