Industry's most comprehensive email security solution that stops all known, unknown and targeted attacks

Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content management solutions that protect against viruses, Trojans, spyware, spam and hacker attacks, and Avinti Inc., a leading provider of email protection, set a new standard today with the launch of Avinti Identified Threats Filter (ITF), which protects against zero-day attacks. Avinti ITF complements the Avinti iSolation Server with award-winning antivirus protection from Kaspersky Lab. This tightly integrated solution empowers businesses with multi-layered email defense against known, first-instance and targeted attacks via email.

Osterman Research reported in a July 2005 report entitled “Messaging Security Market Trends, 2005-2008” that seven out of 10 organizations believe that zero-hour protection capabilities should be integrated into antivirus capabilities. Avinti iSolation Server with the Identified Threat Filter option addresses this growing requirement of enterprise IT. Avinti ITF quickly identifies and stops known threats, while Avinti iSolation Server analyzes suspected email messages for which no pattern file exists in a secure, virtual machine. The Avinti solution identifies attacks without using heuristics or signature patterns by observing the actual behavior of emails, watching for either suspicious actions or actions commonly associated with malware.

In spite of the obvious advantages of this next generation zero-hour protection, a modern high end security product is impossible without an integrated, high performance antivirus engine from a leading antivirus vendor. The Kaspersky Anti-Virus Engine provides Avinti customers with the industry's fastest signature updates and most comprehensive protection against viruses, worms, Trojans and spyware based on proven technologies. Independent antivirus tests regularly rank Kaspersky Anti-Virus as the leading technology with nearly 100 per cent detection rates.

“Whether a company is a Fortune 500 global business or a 15 person local operation, no organization is immune from the onslaught of email attacks designed to compromise IT systems for the express purposes of making money through criminal activity,” said Terry Dickson, CEO at Avinti. “SMBs now have access to a unified zero-day email protection solution featuring best-of-breed antivirus, unwanted email and first-instance protection. Larger organizations can leverage Avinti ITF as a cost-effective protection layer that extends email protection further from host systems. Our partnership with Kaspersky Lab reflects Avinti's strategic commitment to deliver our customers an integrated security solution powered by industry leading antivirus technology available.”

"Kaspersky Anti-Virus technology has time and again set the standards for unparalleled detection and accuracy rates, industry-leading response times to newly identified threats, and unmatched hourly signature updates. By teaming with Avinti, we are helping companies further shrink the window of vulnerability against new and emerging threats, preventing costly disruptions to businesses”, said Vitaly Bezrodnykh, Business Development Director at Kaspersky Lab.
