To contribute to the global efforts of building a more sustainable digital environment, Kaspersky has joined the ranks of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) observers. Becoming the first cybersecurity company to join the DCO, Kaspersky will share its long-standing experience in tackling sophisticated cyberthreats with the organization and its members to empower them in the pursuit of a more resilient and inclusive digital economy.
Established in 2020, the DCO is the world’s first standalone international organization focused on the digital economy. With 16 member states and a large network of observers and partners represented by world-leading organizations, the DCO works to unleash the potential of digital technologies to achieve social prosperity and economic growth.
The partnership announcement took place as part of the 5th DCO General Assembly in Kuwait from February 4-5. By joining the DCO, Kaspersky brings its extensive experience in cybersecurity and capacity building to help the organization advance safer digital ecosystems and support equitable access to technology. Protecting consumers and organizations globally against all types of cyberthreats for nearly 30 years, Kaspersky will empower DCO participants with knowledge on how to resist threats that might hinder digital development and strengthen their digital resilience.
The DCO’s key focus areas — the digital economy’s growth, prosperity, innovation and women and youth enablement — echo Kaspersky’s mission to build a safer, more sustainable digital world, where people can take advantage of the power of technology. Through joint cooperation, Kaspersky and the DCO will drive cyber capacity building to develop knowledge-sharing platforms and impactful initiatives aimed at raising cybersecurity awareness among a wider audience and enhancing their IT knowledge and skills.
“Kaspersky has always treated international cooperation as the greatest enabler of digital resilience and prosperity,” comments Yuliya Shlychkova, Vice President of Global Public Affairs at Kaspersky. “The partnership with the Digital Cooperation Organization reflects our commitment to promoting the sustainable development of the digital space collaboratively. As an observer, Kaspersky will continue to deliver on its mission of building a safer digital world where every country, business and person is free to use the power of digital technologies to improve their lives.”
Empowering a new generation of secure digital users has been one of Kaspersky’s long-term focuses. The company provides Expert Training to help organizations worldwide enhance their skills in combating cybercrime, promotes cybersecurity knowledge through Kaspersky Academy and hands-on platforms to foster talent like Kaspersky{CTF}.
Kaspersky has also been running its Cyber Capacity Building educational program, designed for employees of private and public companies, as well as for individuals at universities interested in gaining practical skills to assess the security level of their IT infrastructure. Learn more here.
