Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content and threat management solutions, announces that authoritative French IT magazine Micro Hebdo has declared Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 as the number one security software suite.
Micro Hebdo’s February 2011 edition ranked Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 the number one solution in a test of fifteen popular security suites, the second year in a row that Kaspersky Lab has taken the title.
Micro Hebdo’s rigorous testing took almost two months to complete and saw the dynamic and static detection performance of all fifteen suites subjected to intense scrutiny. The testers measured each product’s anti-spam and anti-phishing abilities, their web and data protection capabilities, levels of proactive protection against unknown malware, firewall, IDS and parental control performance, as well as overall functionality and ease of use. Each solution was tested against over ten thousand different malware samples and more than five thousand different infected or dangerous websites, both nationally and internationally. Each product was benchmarked against a total of 147 different criteria.
The tests were performed on computers running both 32-bit and 64-bit Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Windows 7 operating systems. All of the security suites were granted full access to their relevant cloud-based services and update servers during the test.
