Kaspersky Lab announces that its Industrial CyberSecurity Platform has won this year’s World Leading Internet Scientific and Technological Achievement Award at the 3rd World Internet Conference in Wuzhen, China this week.
From among 60 tech innovations from different parts of the globe, Kaspersky Lab’s Industrial CyberSecurity Platform 2016 has made the cut for the top 15 exceptional scientific and technological breakthroughs from which the awardee was selected.
The prestigious list includes ground-breaking innovations from companies such as IBM, Microsoft, Baidu, Tesla, Samsung and many others.
With the theme “Innovation-driven Internet Development for the Benefit of All – Building a Community of Common Future in Cyberspace”, the conference was comprised of forums, exhibitions and a variety of events. The conference covered the hottest technology topics such as internet economy, internet innovation, internet culture, governance in cyberspace and international cooperation on the Internet.
The inclusion of Kaspersky Lab’s latest cybersecurity technology in the list demonstrates its position as a pioneer in securing critical infrastructures and industrial systems, a new field of the cybersecurity industry that was practically non-existent in the past.
This is the first time that Kaspersky Lab has been included in the Wuzhen Summit awards and is the only cybersecurity company in the 2016 list.
“Our continuous investment in threat research and development has led us to innovate our cybersecurity technologies and expand our portfolio of specialized solutions to mitigate new industrial cyber risks of our customers. We are deeply honored to have our cutting-edge Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity platform recognized as one of the world’s best,” said Andrey Suvorov, Head of Critical Infrastructure Protection Business Development at Kaspersky Lab.
The Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity, a specialized solution to secure critical infrastructure and industrial facilities, was launched early this year.
“This acknowledgment is very important for the Kaspersky Lab team as it recognizes our leadership in the cybersecurity field. We will remain a trusted partner of governments and regulators in developing frameworks to combat sophisticated and complex threats,” said Alvin Cheng, General Manager for Kaspersky Lab Greater China.
