Kaspersky Anti-Virus wins award from PC Achat Magazine PC Achat, one of the most wide-read computer related magazines in France with a circulation of nearly 70,000 copies, conducted a test of the five most popular anti-virus programs in France. The comparison test, appearing in the magazine's July (no. 69) edition, showed the world renowned anti-virus suite, Kaspersky Anti-Virus, again proving its high quality and reliability in winning the competition outright. Kaspersky Anti-Virus flawlessly passed all tests, giving the competition no chance. It proved to be the only product to achieve a 100% successful result in all test categories, en route to receiving the highest score.

It is widely known that presently e-mail is virtually the only source from which viruses spread. For this reason the PC Achat specialists focused attention on the effectiveness of the anti-virus programs' ability to battle e-mail viruses. To do this a virus "cocktail" was created containing macro, script, Windows viruses and Internet worms. Three varieties (standard viruses, viruses in ZIP-archives and viruses in compressed files) of this cocktail were in turn passed through each of the anti-virus solutions being tested. Finally the ability to detect unknown viruses was checked, during which the integrated Kaspersky Anti-Virus heuristic technology also proved 100% effective. The comparison test conducted by PC Achat's editorial team clearly points out the uniquely varied and complimentary means of protection offered by Kaspersky Anti-Virus, including: Office Guard, a "behavior blocker" and the resident script virus interceptor Script Checker. "Kaspersky Anti-Virus is the natural choice for computer protection: the program does its work to the 100th percentile", summarized PC Achat magazine.
