Tarari joins Kaspersky Lab OEM program to enhance hardware protection solutions for OEMs and ODMs building network security equipment

Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content management solutions announced that it is partnering with Tarari Inc., the award-winning acceleration company, to provide a hardware-accelerated version of the award-winning Kaspersky antivirus technology that will enable original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and original design manufacturers (ODMs) to dramatically increase the performance of their network security appliances. The acceleration technology built into Tarari's Content Processors allows appliances utilizing the new solution from Kaspersky Lab and Tarari to better protect both corporate email traffic and corporate web browsing – the key entry points for malicious code – with less impact on overall system performance.

"The ability to integrate Tarari's content-processing technology with Kaspersky antivirus technology enables our OEMs and ODMs to continue to build some of the most high performance antivirus solutions on the market," said Vitaly Bezrodnykh, business development director at Kaspersky Lab. "We welcome Tarari as the newest member of our +80 company-strong OEM customer portfolio. Enterprises that purchase a Kaspersky solution with Tarari acceleration will be better armed to keep up with the increasing number of viruses being unleashed everyday, without degrading the performance of their business-critical systems."

The scale and economic impact of attacks by viruses, worms, and Trojans continues to grow significantly each year. Kaspersky antivirus enables OEMs and ODMs to build highly reliable network security solutions to scan traffic at the gateway in real-time for the presence of malicious code. Tarari Content Processors can accelerate and offload virus scanning, allowing gateways and servers to continue to perform at optimal speeds.

Kaspersky Lab joins other Tarari-accelerated commercial solutions including – an intrusion prevention system (IPS) from Intoto, Inc., and an anti-spam solution from Mail-Filters, Inc. These solutions will enable OEMs and ODMs to design, develop, and sell comprehensive commercial unified threat management (UTM) solutions that offer integrated protection against the increasing number of blended Internet threats

"Tarari's content-processing silicon offers the plug-in horsepower developers need to reduce the costs and time required to build world-class, integrated security appliances," said Randy Smerik, CEO of Tarari, Inc. "With the addition of Kaspersky Lab's antivirus technology to our Tarari-accelerated intrusion prevention and anti-spam solutions, our OEM and ODM customers now have a comprehensive, high-performance network security platform that offers full protection without performance degradation."
