December 15, 2004

Kaspersky Lab and Innominate present a PCI version of successful Innominate mGuard security appliance

Kaspersky Lab, a leading vendor of secure content management solutions, and Innominate Security Technologies AG, a Berlin-based manufacturer of security appliances, announce the release of a PCI version of the renowned Innominate mGuard security appliance enhanced with a dedicated antivirus component from Kaspersky Lab.

With Innominate mGuard PCI, Innominate offers the world's first complete hardware security solution for integration into PCs and server systems. The firewall, VPN and antivirus functions can be easily integrated regardless of the operating system used. Specially developed by Innominate, the hardware is based on the latest Intel XScale technology (ARM-based) guaranteeing high quality performance as well as unique integration possibilities.

A technology partnership with Kaspersky Lab enables the Innominate solution to offer high quality antivirus protection integrated into ARM technology. It is designed to detect and block viruses, Trojans and other malicious programs before they enter end user PCs and workstations, independent of the platforms they operate on. The special architecture of the antivirus solution means that the virus detection capabilities of Kaspersky® Anti-Virus for mGuard PCI can be extended.

'Innominate mGuard is the first ARM-powered device with antivirus functionality. We have chosen to work with Kaspersky Lab again as our previous successful joint projects confirmed the ingenuity and efficiency of the Kaspersky team and the effectiveness of Kaspersky antivirus technology', explains Olaf Siemens, CEO of Innominate Security Technologies AG.

'We consider security solutions for the ARM platform a very promising business direction', comments Vitaly Bezrodnykh, Kaspersky Lab's Business Development Director. 'We plan to work further in the field of embedded devices protection and to enhance malware defense systems for ARM'.

Kaspersky Anti-Virus is renowned for its industry leading detection rates and the fastest reaction to new threats, as well as for most the frequent releases of updates for antivirus databases (every single hour). Over the last five years, the number of malicious programs which KasperskyR Anti-Virus databases detect has increased almost 80 times.

The Innominate mGuard PCI card will be available starting in December 2004, at suggested retail prices between 299 and 399 Euro (plus VAT) for professional, enterprise and enterprise XL versions.
