By using tools that are freely available on the Internet, anyone can view the online activity of people connected to unsecured Wi-Fi access points, including their private correspondence, transferred files, financial data and much more. And the harsh reality is that every fourth Wi-Fi point is unprotected. There are three possible solutions: accept that others will know literally everything about you and your online activities, stop using public Wi-Fi networks – or start using VPN, i.e., encrypt your traffic. The latter, for example, can be done with Kaspersky Secure Connection, which is now available for iOS devices.

Kaspersky Secure Connection is a new generation of VPN that not only reliably encrypts traffic but also prompts the user when the solution should start encrypting. As well as Windows, MacOS X and Android, the solution is now available for iOS.

With Kaspersky Secure Connection for iOS, a user can choose to encrypt traffic continuously (while the network is available or until the user disconnects it), encrypt on demand or enable encryption automatically when connected to an unsecured Wi-Fi network. In the paid version of the product, you can also select which server the traffic goes to, for example, while in Germany, you can select to encrypt traffic via US servers. By default, the solution always selects the closest server that is currently least loaded.

200 megabytes (300 when connecting to the My Kaspersky portal) of encrypted traffic per day are available to anyone on any number of devices, which is more than enough for the most important activities such as checking mail, instant messaging or reading the news. The paid version provides unlimited traffic for five devices with any operating system for a period of one month or a year. In addition, this multiplatform solution allows the user to view statistics for encrypted traffic on the My Kaspersky Portal.

“Thanks to traffic encryptionvia VPN, intercepting users’ online activity is becoming pointless for cybercriminals – instead of intriguing details about someone else's private life, they see only an unintelligible series of signs and symbols. To protect our users, we have developed the multiplatform Kaspersky Secure Connection with a unique adaptive approach that ‘prompts’ the user when their data can be compromised, making it an essential piece of kit for every active Internet user,” says Andrei Mochola, Head of Consumer Business at Kaspersky Lab.

Kaspersky Secure Connection is available to download and activate in all regions where the company has a presence, except the following countries due to legal restrictions: Belarus, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Iran, UAE, Saudi Arabia, China and Hong Kong.
