Kaspersky Lab unveils its new Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business platform and rounds up its 2012 achievements in the corporate security market at Cyber-Security Summit in New York
On 30 January 2013, Kaspersky Lab announced its new flagship corporate security platform, Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business, at the company’s Cyber-Security Summit “How Cyber-Warfare Impacts Corporate IT Security” in New York. The launch of this entirely new security platform is a significant milestone in the company’s ongoing growth in the global market for corporate IT security solutions.
The summit featured insights from a variety of recognized IT security experts, reinforcing Kaspersky Lab’s status as an industry leader. These guests included Howard Schmidt, former Cyber-Security Coordinator of the Obama administration; Lawrence Orans, Research Director, Gartner Inc.; and several security representatives of international businesses such as RIM and PayPal. These experts were joined on stage by Kaspersky Lab executives and researchers, who shared their latest threat intelligence, expert insights, and valuable strategies to help businesses combat cybercrime.
Throughout the presentations and panel discussions, the dangers of cyber-weapons were a consistent theme, and Kaspersky Lab CEO and founder Eugene Kaspersky told the audience that an eventual cyber-attack against a high-profile corporation or critical infrastructure was inevitable. The assembled experts also discussed the security challenges presented by corporate employees using their own devices to access company networks, which was cited as a potential vulnerability for many businesses. Another key theme to emerge from the panel discussion was the need for an increased emphasis on security education amongst current and future business executives.
The company’s new flagship corporate security platform for businesses offers a powerful combination of deep protection, efficiency, and seamless manageability. To simplify IT security management and ensure advanced protection for business of all sizes, Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business comes with a number of new and improved technologies that allow IT administrators to see, control, and protect their network.
Available for purchase in specialized bundles for businesses of all sizes, Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business is a single, unified platform, created by Kaspersky Lab’s engineers from a single code base. It delivers protection in a way that other security products cannot. Through ONE platform, ONE console, and at ONE cost, IT administrators can see, control and protect all systems and endpoints within the organization’s IT infrastructure, whether it’s a PC down the hall, a virtual machine in another office, or a missing smartphone across the country.
Kaspersky Lab protects about 250,000 companies worldwide and is ranked as one of the four biggest endpoint security vendors in the world1. A key element of Kaspersky Lab’s strategy for 2012 was to strengthen its position within the B2B security market, which culminated in the launch of Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business.
In 2012, Kaspersky Lab was recognized as a global leader in endpoint protection by numerous independent analysts and companies. The company has been named a ‘Leader’ in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Endpoint Protection Platforms2 and listed as a Top Player in the Market Quadrant for Endpoint Security Platforms 2012 by The Radicati Group3. Moreover, Kaspersky Lab’s corporate solution was placed among four ‘Leaders’ in The Forrester Wave™: Endpoint Security4. Following these recent successes, leading market analysts believe the company has the potential for further growth.
Moreover, Kaspersky Lab has earned the loyalty of its corporate clients, which is one of the most important success factors for a trust-based business model. According to a recent Customer Retention survey by TNS, Kaspersky Lab’s corporate customer retention index of 1065 is significantly higher than the industry average of 73 and compares favorably with its key competitors.
Further growth in the B2B segment remains one of the key strategic directions of Kaspersky Lab’s development. The company plans to intensify its growth in the corporate segment with the new Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business solution, and grow its customer base in all categories, including enterprises, small and medium-sized businesses and home office clients.
Eugene Kaspersky, CEO and co-founder of Kaspersky Lab, said: “High-profile targeted attacks on enterprises are becoming increasingly widespread. Hundreds of businesses have already been attacked, and more and more companies are realizing the importance of being equipped with the very latest security technologies. Constantly communicating with our clients, getting their feedback and understanding their needs, we have enhanced our products with high-end tools like patch management, vulnerability assessment, and mobile device management. The loyalty of our clients proves that this approach and our technologies are both highly effective!”
