Kaspersky Lab Appoints a New Technical Director

Kaspersky Lab, an international data-security software developer, announces the appointment of Alexey Komkov as its technical director responsible for the development of all products and technologies, information security, office network infrastructure, long-term development strategy and the company's general technology policies. Alexey Komkov was born on March 28, 1969 in Moscow, Russia. He graduated from the Moscow Aviation Institute with a degree in Automated Management Systems and holds an MBA degree in financial management. In 1998 Mr. Komkov was selected from among Russia's best and brightest managers to take part in the Russian Federation's Presidential program offering specialized training in Enterprise Management. Before coming to Kaspersky Lab Mr. Komkov held a management position in the large Russian IT company IBS where headed the Customized Information Solutions department. He also worked for the software company LUXOFT as manager of Data Processing Technologies. "I am pleased to take part in one of the most successful Russian IT projects achieving unprecedented headway not only in Russia but internationally as well," said Alexey Komkov, adding, "I have not doubt in the tremendous potential of Kaspersky Lab yet to be realized. I look forward to helping Kaspersky Lab offer products and services of even greater reliability and which are oriented toward fully satisfying user requirements." Alexey possesses fluent English skills, is married and has a child. Mikhail Kalinichenko, who held the position of technical director for Kaspersky Lab from 1998 until March 2002 continues to work with the company as a consultant.
