Kaspersky delivers even more protection for Windows 8 users

Protecting apps developed for Microsoft’s new user interface

Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2014 support the new Windows 8 ‘Remediation’ feature – so apps that have been developed for Microsoft’s new user interface can be scanned for viruses. If an application is infected, the Kaspersky security solution removes the infected files, flags the infected application and goes on to replace the application with a clean, fresh copy from the Windows Store.

Kaspersky Now – designed specifically for Microsoft’s new user interface

In addition to displaying your PC’s protection status, our new application – Kaspersky Now – lets you quickly launch key features within Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 or Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2014... including Scan, Update, Parental Control and more. It also includes Kaspersky’s securelist.com RSS feed – so you can keep up-to-date with the latest security news and trends.

Kaspersky Now is easy to install. At the end of the Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 or Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2014 installation on your Windows 8 PC, simply use the link to the Windows Store.

Early-Launch Anti-Malware (ELAM) System Support

Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2014 fully support Microsoft’s new Early-Launch Anti-Malware (ELAM) technology. So Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 or Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2014 are able to launch before other third-party software components. Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2014 also work with Microsoft’s Measured Boot feature – to get detailed information on all the Windows components that are launched during the boot process. This means that Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2014 are able to detect and block complex malware – such as rootkits – much more efficiently.

Our internal testing shows that, under normal operating conditions, the early-launch driver has minimal impact on a PC’s performance and start-up time. Kaspersky provides superior protection – with a start-up delay of just a few milliseconds.

Integration with Windows Security Center

Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2014 are fully integrated with the enhanced functionality of the Windows Security Center (WSC) in Windows 8. So all of these functions can now be performed directly from WSC:

  • Activating various product features within Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2014
