Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 MP1 (build 7.0.1.325)

 
My OS has become “slow” after Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 7.0.1.321 was installed

Concerning to:
  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 MP1 (build 7.0.1.321)
  • Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 MP1 (build 7.0.1.321)
  • If you have upgraded Kaspersky Anti-Virus\ Kaspersky Internet Security version 7.0.0.125 to version 7.0.1.321 or you installed version 7.0.1.321 “from scratch”, then after the installation the following problems might occur: 

    1. your computer runs more slowly after Kaspersky Anti-Virus has been installed and Internet Explorer is started

    2. Microsoft Office 2007 applications start slowly

    Kaspersky Lab apologizes for any inconvenience you might be experiencing from this issue. Our experts are working to solve these problems. You may wish to roll back to the previous version. The process for this would be:

    • download product distributive from our official site:
    • remove the current version via Control Panel. If normal removing fails, please use the remove utility
    • reboot your computer
    • run the downloaded file kav7.0.0.125en.exe or kis7.0.0.125en.exe
    • install version 7.0.0.125 on your computer
    • reboot your computer

    If you would like to help in troubleshooting the problem, please do the following and send your results to Kaspersky Lab Technical Support:

    InformationThis solution is applicable to Windows XP 32bit OS only.

    • download the archive klif377.zip 
    • disconnect from the Internet
    • open the application main window 
    • click the Settings button > Update 
    • clear the box Update application modules 
    • in the left part of the window click Service 
    • clear the box Enable Self-Defense 
    • click OK 

     

    • exit the porgram 
      • in the right bottom corner of the screen right-click Kaspersky Lab’s logo  
      • in the context menu choose Exit
      extract the archive klif377.zip 
    • copy the file klif.sys from the extracted archive klif377.zip into the folder C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers 
    • click Yes in the Confirm File Replace window 

     

    • restart your computer 
    • enable program self-defense

    If the instructions above did not help please do the following:

    InformationThis solution is applicable to Windows XP 32bit OS only.

    • download dnsq.zip
    • turn off Self-Defense
    • open the product setup folder:
      • Kaspersky Anti-Virus - C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0
      • Kaspersky Internet Security - C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0
    • find the file dnsq.dll
    • rename it (for example, dnsq.d)
    • extract dnsq.zip
    • copy file dnsq.dll from dnsq.zip to the product setup folder
    • turn on Self-Defense
    • reboot your PC

    If Microsoft Office 2007 applications start slowly on your PC, then in order to resolve the problem, do the following: 

    • open the main application window 
    • click the Settings button > select Protection 
    • in the right-part of the window in the Compatibility section check the box Compatibility with application self-defense

    InformationIf Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 is installed on your PC, then an information message will be displayed on the screen informing that operation of Anti-Dialer and Protection of confidential data will be impossible. Click Yes to continue. 

    •  click OK 
    • minimize the main application window 
    • restart your computer
