Kaspersky Security for Mobile Security & management for mobile devices

  • Mobile security, controls & anti-theft
  • MDM – Mobile Device Management
  • Central control of multiple mobile platforms
  • Mobile security

In 2015, mobile malware increased threefold on the previous year. Kaspersky Lab registered almost 17 million mobile malware attacks, protecting 2.5 million unique Android device users. iOS malware doubled, while the number of users attacked by mobile ransomware increased five times.

    • Mobile anti-malware

Our mobile security combines signature-based protection and heuristic analysis with cloud-assisted threat intelligence from Kaspersky Security Network (KSN) to deliver multi-layered, real-time defense against the latest mobile threats. You can scan devices on demand or according to your own pre-defined schedule. Regular Over the Air (OTA) updates help ensure each device has the latest anti-malware installed.

    • Web Protection

Web Protection secures mobile browsing from iOS, Android and Windows Phone devices. Websites are checked before they are opened and phishing sites and pages with malicious code are blocked. It’s easy to manage the site categories users access on their mobile devices and you can block access to sites that don’t conform to corporate security or usage policies, including social media, gambling, recruitment, retail and adult websites, as well as proxy servers.

    • Call & SMS filtering

Call & SMS filtering helps reduce unwanted calls and texts while increasing user privacy and security.

    • Rooting & jailbreaking protection

Mobile malware with root access capability has been around since at least 2011 and is extremely popular with cyber criminals. User attempts to jailbreak or root devices can compromise security: malware using super-user rights to modify data stored on the device or serve aggressive advertising is common. Kaspersky Security for Mobile enables administrators to:

      • Block access to corporate data and applications on the rooted / jailbroken device
      • Delete all corporate data on compromised devices – or completely wipe all data
    • Mobile anti-theft features

If a mobile device is lost or stolen, confidential corporate information could be at risk. That’s why we’ve included a whole host of anti-theft features that can be operated remotely:

      • Lock the missing device / unlock the found device
      • ‘Wipe’ corporate data – or restore to factory settings
      • Locate the device on a map
      • Sound an alarm on the device
      • Take photographs of unauthorized users
      • Receive the device’s new number if the SIM card is replaced

Google Cloud Messaging (GCM) and Apple Push Notifications Service (APNs) help ensure Android- and iOS-phones and tablets receive these commands rapidly.

    Mobile Application Management (MAM)

For effective Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) enablement it’s essential to have appropriate control over the applications running on employee-owned –and how those applications are being used. Our control tools – together with ‘app wrapping’ containerization – help secure corporate data and applications.

    • Containerization

Our containerization technology lets you wrap Android apps within special containers on each user’s mobile device. Corporate applications and data are stored in the containers – completely separated from personal data. Data inside the container can’t be copied and pasted outside it.

    • Extra protection for sensitive data

For an additional layer of security, Kaspersky Security for Mobile supports enforced encryption for all data within each container. Further protection is enabled via forced application re-login following a set period of inactivity, preventing unauthorized access to data on unattended or misplaced devices. Restricted Internet, call and SMS access can also be enforced within the containerized apps.

    • Selective Wipe

If an employee moves to another company, you can make sure sensitive corporate data doesn’t leave with them. Remotely operated wipe features let you delete the entire corporate container and all data stored within it – without deleting any of the device owner’s photos, playlists, contacts and other personal data and settings.

    • Application Control

Easy-to-configure Application Control tools give you control over which applications can be installed or launched on any mobile devices that have access to corporate systems and data. Kaspersky Security for Mobile makes it easy to restrict application downloads to authorized-only or create lists of blocked applications using whitelists or blacklists. Flexible Compliance Control gives administrators the tools to restrict non-compliant devices and automatically enforce Anti-Theft features.

    Mobile Device Management (MDM)

Kaspersky Security for Mobile uses a single interface to manage each platform’s MDM functionality – saving you time and making it easier to roll out unified mobile security policies.

    • MDM support

Powerful MDM capabilities mean it’s easy to apply group or individual MDM policies to Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, Android and iOS MDM devices - through a single interface. For example, administrators can easily enforce the use of complex passwords, device encryption, prohibit camera usage and receive detailed information about the device and the apps installed on it.

    • Working profiles

Administrators can create work profiles for enabled Android devices using Android for Work. Setup business apps such as Google Apps for Work and manage their usage ondevices. Support for Samsung KNOX 1.0 and 2.0 lets you manage firewall settings, APN, VPN and Exchange Server settings for Samsung devices.

    Mobility enablement and management

Because securing and controlling mobile devices has added to an already long list of tasks for IT administrators, we’ve included a range of technologies that help reduce mobile management complexity.

    • Ease of deployment

Kaspersky Security for Mobile lets you customize your mobile endpoint security before using Over the Air (OTA) provisioning to deliver the security agent to each employees’ device via Google Play, the App Store, or a Self-Service Portal (SSP). Simply send a link or QR code for each mobile device – via email or SMS message – and the device will automatically connect to Kaspersky Security Center after deployment.

    • Self-Service Portal

To ease the load on IT administrators, Kaspersky Security for Mobile includes a Self-Service Portal that lets mobile users perform many basic administration tasks for themselves – after they’ve entered their username and password. If a user wishes to connect a new device, the Self-Service Portal will guide them through the process – and make sure the required device is protected and controlled. The portal can also give users access to key anti-theft features: users can lock, wipe and locate their missing devices,– without having to request help from an IT administrator.

    • Centralized management

Kaspersky Security for Mobile is managed from Kaspersky Security Center, a single unified management console that gives you visibility and control of all the Kaspersky Lab endpoint security technologies you’re running. In addition to managing the security of mobile devices, Kaspersky Security Center manages manage security for laptops, desktops, servers, virtual machines and more – with the convenience of a ‘single pane of glass’ console. This level of integration is only possible because all Kaserpsky Lab’s endpoint security technologies have been developed by our own in-house team.

    • Management flexibility

If you’re running a large network, Role-Based Access Control* helps you to divide security management responsibilities between multiple administrators. For example, you may want one administrator to control and manage security for endpoints and mobile devices, while another takes care of security across all virtual machines. The Kaspersky Security Center console is easily customized so each administrator can only access the tools and information e relevant to their responsibilities. Admisitrators can also manage user notifications on threats or changes while the Web console enables device management and security – as well as security for other endpoints – from any online location.

*Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) is only included in Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business | Advanced and Kaspersky Total Security for Business.

    • Multi-platform support

With support for Android, iOS and Windows Phone, you can secure and manage the most popular smartphones and tablets from our single management console.

  • Whether your business provides phones & tablets to its employees or you run a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) initiative, keeping track of all those devices – and ensuring corporate security isn’t compromised – can be difficult and time-consuming. However, with the increasing volume of mobile malware – plus phishing attacks and malicious websites – mobile security is just as important as protecting every other endpoint in your business. Kaspersky Security for Mobile gives you security as well as centralized visibility and control – so you can see, secure and manage every mobile device that accesses your network and corporate data.

    • Protects against mobile security threats

Our advanced anti-malware technologies protect mobile devices from a wide range of threats – including viruses, Trojans, phishing attacks and more. Flexible configuration tools let you control which applications can be run on each mobile device – and you can enforce different policies for specific groups or individual users within the business.

    • Delivers clear, centralized visibility of all mobiles

Kaspersky Security for Mobile eliminates all the guesswork in trying to manage security across all the devices that are trying to access your systems and data. It automatically identifies any new devices that appear on your network, automatically distributes mobile security technologies and simplifies the configuration of data access restrictions.

    • Helps eliminate the risk of data loss

Mobile devices can store vast quantities of confidential corporate data – and that can introduce significant security issues. Weak passwords, the use of dangerous applications and a failure to encrypt data can all result in sensitive information falling into the wrong hands. Kaspersky Security for Mobile makes it easy to enforce the use of strong passwords and block the launch of inappropriate apps. Furthermore, if you’re running a BYOD initiative, our containerization technology totally separates corporate data & apps from the user’s personal information & apps. You can then apply additional security measures – including encryption – to all containerized apps and data on the device.

    • Protects data on lost or stolen phones

Every year, over 30% of all mobile devices are lost or stolen. That’s why Kaspersky Security for Mobile includes extensive anti-theft functionality that helps you to prevent precious data being accessed by unauthorized users. Remotely operated features let you block access to data and applications, wipe data from the device and find the device’s location.

    • Reduces IT management complexity

With the typical user operating an average of three mobile devices, the volume and variety of devices that you have to manage can be a challenge. We support smartphones and tablets on all of today’s most popular platforms – Android, iOS and Windows Phone – so you can configure and manage protection for a vast range of devices. Furthermore, a single management console helps you to configure and control security for both mobile devices and all other endpoints that are running Kaspersky Lab security technologies.
