The Kaspersky for iOS<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>app now supports Apple Shortcuts and Siri. In this post, we discuss the new possibilities this gives our users, and how to configure Shortcuts to work with the Kaspersky app.<\/p>\n

How to give voice commands to Kaspersky<\/h2>\n

You can now turn the VPN on and off in the Kaspersky for iOS<\/a>\u00a0app using voice commands. Setting this up is very quick and easy: just activate Siri and say, \u201cSiri, turn on Kaspersky VPN\u201d. The system will then ask if you really want to enable commands \u2014 tap the blue Turn On<\/em> button.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019ve just installed Kaspersky on your iPhone or iPad and have never turned the VPN on before, you\u2019ll need to open the app and activate the VPN manually to accept all the necessary user agreements. After that, everything will work smoothly.<\/p>\n

\"How<\/a>

To activate voice commands for Kaspersky VPN, launch Siri and say, \u201cSiri, turn on Kaspersky VPN\u201d<\/p><\/div>\n

Now all you have to do is say, \u201cSiri, turn on Kaspersky VPN\u201d to establish a VPN connection or \u201cSiri, turn off Kaspersky VPN\u201d to disconnect \u2014 it\u2019s as easy as pie.<\/p>\n

How to turn VPN on and off using Shortcuts<\/h2>\n

But that\u2019s just the beginning. You can also use Apple Shortcuts to place \u201cTurn on VPN\u201d and \u201cTurn off VPN\u201d shortcuts on your iPhone\u2019s Home Screen. To do this, find and open the Shortcuts app; the easiest way to do this is through search \u2014 especially if you rarely use this app.<\/p>\n

To set up Kaspersky VPN Home Screen shortcuts, open the Shortcuts app and select Kaspersky<\/p><\/div>\n

Next, find the Kaspersky app in Shortcuts and tap it. If it\u2019s difficult to find due to an over-abundance of icons, you can use the search function. To do this, tap All Shortcuts<\/em> and type \u201cTurn\u201d in the search field. In both cases, the necessary shortcuts will now appear on the screen.<\/p>\n

To find Kaspersky VPN shortcuts in Shortcuts, you can use the search function<\/p><\/div>\n

Simply tapping the shortcut will immediately activate it \u2014 turning the VPN on or off. To add a shortcut to the Home Screen, tap and hold the shortcut. A pop-up menu will appear \u2014 select Add to Home Screen<\/em>.<\/p>\n

On the next screen, you can choose the icon and color of the shortcut. By default, iOS suggests blue, but we recommend choosing green for \u201cTurn on VPN\u201d, and red for \u201cTurn off VPN\u201d. This way, you\u2019ll instantly know which shortcut does what, making them convenient to use.<\/p>\n

All done! Now you have handy shortcuts on your Home Screen that let you quickly turn the VPN on or off in the Kaspersky for iOS<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>app with just a single tap.<\/p>\n

How to trigger Kaspersky VPN activation when launching apps<\/h2>\n

And that\u2019s still not all! You can also use Shortcuts to automatically trigger VPN activation in Kaspersky for iOS<\/a>. For example, you can automatically establish a VPN connection when launching a particular app.<\/p>\n

To do this, open the Shortcuts app, go to the Automation<\/em> tab, and tap the large blue New Automation<\/em> button (or the +<\/em> in the upper right corner of the screen if you\u2019ve created automation scripts before). On the page that opens, scroll down to the App<\/em> option and tap it.<\/p>\n

You can use Shortcuts to automate Kaspersky VPN activation \u2014 for example, when launching a particular app<\/p><\/div>\n

Next, tap Choose<\/em> to select an app, check the box at the bottom of the screen next to Run Immediately<\/em> so the system doesn\u2019t ask unnecessary questions, and tap Next<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Select the desired app and check the box next to \u201cRun Immediately\u201d<\/p><\/div>\n

On the next screen, use the search to find the familiar Turn on VPN<\/em> shortcut and select it. Done! Now a VPN connection will be established automatically when you launch the app you\u2019ve selected.<\/p>\n

Tap \u201cNext\u201d and find the \u201cTurn on VPN\u201d shortcut<\/p><\/div>\n

By the way, you can also configure the VPN connection to automatically disconnect when you close this app. To do this, repeat all the steps described above, but change the condition to Is Closed<\/em>, and select the Turn off VPN<\/em> shortcut.<\/p>\n

You can also automatically disconnect the VPN when closing an app: create a new automation script, change the condition to \u201cIs Closed\u201d, and select the \u201cTurn off VPN\u201d shortcut<\/p><\/div>\n

How to trigger Kaspersky VPN activation when connecting to Wi-Fi networks<\/h2>\n

Another possibility is to activate the VPN automatically when connecting to any Wi-Fi network \u2014 or a specific network that you don\u2019t fully trust but have to use frequently. To do this, create a new automation script, scroll down to Wi-Fi<\/em>, and select it.<\/p>\n

To turn the VPN on automatically when connecting to Wi-Fi, create a new automation script and select \u201cWi-Fi\u201d from the list<\/p><\/div>\n

In the window that opens, click Choose<\/em> to select a network \u2014 either a specific one or Any Network<\/em>. As before, check the box next to Run Immediately<\/em> so you don\u2019t have to confirm this action each time.<\/p>\n

\"Triggering<\/a>

Select the desired network or \u201cAny Network\u201d, and check the box next to \u201cRun Immediately\u201d<\/p><\/div>\n

Next, click Next<\/em> and select the Turn on VPN<\/em> shortcut. You can also create an additional script to close the VPN connection automatically when disconnecting from Wi-Fi.<\/p>\n

The features described in this post are available to users with Kaspersky Plus<\/a> and Kaspersky Premium<\/a> subscriptions.<\/p>\n
