Christmas and New Year\u2019s Eve celebrations are quickly approaching, which means dinners with friends and relatives as well as parties and festivities. \u00a0But, the holiday rush often makes us less cautious, so losing a phone is common during this time of the year. \u00a0However, we often do not miss the device itself, but the information stored on it.<\/p>\n

If your phone is lost or stolen, you may want to remove personal data from your device so that it does not fall into unworthy hands. \u00a0With Kaspersky Internet Security\u00a0for Android<\/b><\/a> installed on your device, it is easy to do.<\/p>\n

1) Forewarned is forearmed.\u00a0 Prepare your device for the worst-case scenario so that you will be able to remotely wipe all the data if necessary. Do the following:<\/p>\n

1. In the main application window, open the quick launch panel and tap Settings<\/b>.<\/p>\n

2. Select\u00a0the Anti-Theft<\/a> component. Enter your secret code<\/a> and tap Enter<\/b>.<\/p>\n

\"1_en\"<\/a><\/p>\n

3. Tap\u00a0Allowed commands<\/b>\u00a0and select the following checkboxes:<\/p>\n

\u2013 Full Reset<\/b>\u00a0to enable the function to delete all data and fully reset the device.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Data Wipe<\/b> to enable the function to wipe the data remotely.<\/p>\n

4. Now the function of remote management is enabled.<\/p>\n

2) Let\u2019s see what you should do if your phone is lost or stolen. To wipe your data via Web Management, perform the following actions:<\/p>\n

1. Enter the https:\/\/anti-theft.kaspersky.com<\/a> website under your\u00a0Kaspersky Account <\/b>you used for setting the initial configuration of the\u00a0Anti-Theft<\/a> component.<\/p>\n

2. Select the tab with your device name and click or tap Data Wipe<\/b>.<\/p>\n

3. Select the type of data to wipe, then click Wipe<\/b>.<\/p>\n

4. In the Confirm the Wipe command<\/b> window, click Yes.<\/b> You can view the result of the command in the Data Wipe<\/b> section.<\/p>\n
