Some sites can be quite <em>persistent<\/em>, or <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bleepingcomputer.com\/news\/security\/forget-email-web-sites-use-notifications-to-spam-your-browser-instead\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">even refuse to show content<\/a> until you sign up. You duly comply, and then the onslaught really begins. In severe cases, the influx of notifications can cause the computer to freeze up. Sound familiar?<\/p>\n<p>The upside of browser push notifications is that they get you information quickly. The downside is that they are another venue for advertising. We explain how to get rid of this headache once and for all.<\/p>\n<h2>How to cancel a subscription to browser notifications<\/h2>\n<p>If you subscribed to notifications on a website and now regret doing so, you can unsubscribe in your browser settings.
