Work on these six areas to help keep everyone in your team engaged.<\/p>\n<h3>1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Get better at onboarding<\/h3>\n<p>Karen Holtzblatt of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.witops.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">WITOps<\/a> says, \u201c50 percent of women are not clear about what to do to be successful. All new hires need to develop strong connections and knowledge and skill to succeed. Use our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.witops.org\/research-onboarding\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Team Onboarding Checklist<\/a> to onboard right.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Encourage valuing and belonging<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cWomen need to feel belonging and value in their team,\u201d says Karen Holtzblatt. WITOps have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.witops.org\/jerk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">engaging, practical activities to foster more supportive workplace behaviors<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Use tools to reduce bias<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cMap the full employee experience and identify where bias influences career paths. Use tools and processes that mitigate human and automated biases,\u201d says Dr. Patricia Gestoso, BIOVIA\u2019s Head of Scientific Customer Support in <a href=\"https:\/\/media.kasperskydaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/92\/2021\/02\/15054851\/Kaspersky-Women-in-tech-Report_UPD_Regional-Stories.pdf\">Kaspersky\u2019s Women in Tech report 2021<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Be all about mentoring<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kaspersky.com\/blog\/secure-futures-magazine\/margaret-dawson-interview\/34231\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Mentoring helps more women rise through the ranks<\/a>, says global tech leader Margaret Dawson. Leaders should take opportunities to mentor and encourage team members to get a mentor.<\/p>\n<h3>5.\u00a0 \u00a0Take breaks and switch off<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.accaglobal.com\/ie\/en\/member\/discover\/cpd-articles\/leadership-management\/media-on.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">\u2018Always on\u2019 work culture is bad for productivity and health<\/a>, and affects women more because they\u2019re more likely to have care responsibilities. Lead by example: Take regular breaks, switch off after hours and encourage all in your team to do the same.<\/p>\n<h3>6.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Identify and challenge ways your business centers men<\/h3>\n<p>Are employee benefits male-coded, like tickets to sporting events? Is competitiveness overly encouraged? Do after-work drinks loom large?
