Antivirus update
Update virus protection on your PC by downloading a live update of Kaspersky Antivirus 2011.
Although an antivirus definition update occurs regularly for your Kaspersky PC protection software, Kaspersky Lab antivirus software updates are not automatic when a new version is released.
For a free antivirus update, follow these simple steps:
Step 1: Check your antivirus software license
In order to update antivirus software for free, you need to have a valid license.
If your license is active, you can use your activation code (key file) to upgrade to our latest antivirus product. The remaining time on your license period will be carried over.
If your license has expired, you can purchase a Kaspersky AntiVirus 2011 license at a discount when you renew online.
Note, however, that a Kaspersky AntiVirus 6.0 license is not compatible with Internet Security 2011. To update from KAV 6.0, renew your license online whether your license has expired or not.
Step 2: Which Windows security?
The latest AntiVirus 2011 software works with Windows 7, Vista or Windows XP. It does not work with Windows 2000 or Windows 98. Make sure that your operating system works with AntiVirus 2011 before you download it.
Kaspersky also has an Antivirus for Mac product specifically designed for Mac users.
Step 3: What to do with your old antivirus software
If you are upgrading from Internet Security 2010, follow the instructions to uninstall Antivirus 2010.
If you are upgrading from 2009, do not remove the software. Your settings will transfer to the new updated antivirus software automatically.
Step 4: Antivirus update download
Once you have a valid license, you are now ready to download AntiVirus 2011.
Instructions:
- Run the downloaded file
- Follow the Setup Wizard instructions
- Restart your computer when installation is complete
- Activate the new version you downloaded
