On 30 September 2009, Kaspersky Lab announced the release and market launch of version 6.0 R2 of Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows Workstations, Kaspersky Anti-Virus Second Opinion Solution, and Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows Servers.
In this connection, Kaspersky Lab announces the start of a migration period. During this period, all users of version 6.0 of the above programs are recommended to migrate to the new version 6.0 R2 (build 6.0.4.1212 or later). The migration is free for all users holding a license to version 6.0 of these programs, providing they migrate to the same product, and does not require new license files.
The migration period will last till 30 September 2011 inclusive.
The products of the previous version 6.0 (Maintenance Pack 3, build 6.0.3.837) will be supported by the Company under the following conditions:
- Critical errors and vulnerabilities in version 6.0 Maintenance Pack 3 will be fixed till 30 September 2010.
- The technical support for users working in 6.0 Maintenance Pack 3 will be available till 30 September 2011.
Kaspersky Lab will discontinue the support of version 6.0 Maintenance Pack 3 starting with 1 October 2011.
The database of known threats for version 6.0 Maintenance Pack 3 of the programs Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows Workstations, Kaspersky Anti-Virus Second Opinion Solution, and Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows Servers will be updated till 30 September 2012 inclusive.
