The following features of Kaspersky Mail Gateway have been changed as
compared with Kaspersky Mail Gateway 5.5 Release (5.5.124.4):
- Added support for an updated set of application keys.
- The application distribution kit no longer includes the universal
(tar.gz) distribution package for all Linux operating systems.
Bugfixes
The following problems have been fixed compared with Kaspersky Mail Gateway
5.5 Release (5.5.124.4):
- Fixed rare error occurring at initialization of the anti-virus kernel (Error(4) or Error(7) message) during reloading of the anti-virus
databases and termination of application activity after reload.
- Fixed error causing application crashes in case when many connections are opened simultaneously (on FreeBSD and Linux platforms).
- Fixed errorneous addition of a remote server used for delivery of e-mail messages to the cache of unreachable servers, which could occur in certain conditions.
- Fixed error causing the setting of the e-mail forwarding parameter (ForwardRoute in the configuration file) to suspend e-mail delivery until application restart because of inability to reset the cache of unreachable servers.
- Fixed error on the page of application Webmin module causing generation of an incorrect configuration file at an attempt to configure the MailfromRule setting.
- Fixed error making the Watchdog module of the application leave zombie processes in cases when application activity is resumed.
Application Installation & Upgrade
Installing the application:
Before installing Kaspersky Mail Gateway, it is necessary to:
- Make sure that your system meets the hardware and software requirements.
- Configure your Internet connection. The application distribution package does not contain the anti-virus and content filtration databases required to perform anti-virus protection and filter spam.
- Log on to the system as root or as a privileged user.
Upgrade from a previous version of Kaspersky Mail Gateway 5.5 Release (5.5.124.4)
We recommend the following method for upgrading:
- Save the application configuration file and notification templates if they have been modified or created by the administrator while working with of Kaspersky Mail Gateway 5.5.
- Uninstall Kaspersky Mail Gateway 5.5 using the method described in the included Administrator's Manual. If the Webmin module has been installed it should be removed using Webmin administration tools.
- Install this Kaspersky Mail Gateway 5.5 CF1 (5.5.135.3) version using the method described in the included Administrator's Manual.
- Replace the default application configuration file (/etc/kav/5.5/scm-smtpgw/smtpgw.conf) with the file saved during step 1.
- Move notification templates saved during step 1 to the corresponding directories.
