If Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 6.0 is installed on the PC running under Windows 98/ME, in this case Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 6.0 does not check traffic by encrypted (SSL) protocol.
As by the certificate substitution in Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 6.0 the certificate is not accepted by Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.0 or 5.5 from Windows 98 and Windows ME.
To resolve the problem of scanning traffic by encrypted (SSL) protocol, download and install Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6.0 or higher.
