Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0/7.0/2009 (all builds)
Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations (all builds)
The list of new features of file anti-virus, mail anti-virus and web-anti-virus is the following:
Scan only new or changed files (configured by the object types): scan new or changed files, optimizes and speeds up antivirus scan, without any loss of protection.
iSwift and iChecker technologies: these technologies speed up antivirus scan by intelligent caching of the data from previous antivirus scans.
Flexible settings of the antivirus scan for complex objects: allow optimized system productivity when scanning complex objects
Pause scan if user activity increases: mechanism that detects user activity making a pause during the scanning process mandatory untill the system load decreases. System load is balanced and scanning does not take all system resources.
System restore (disinfect after malicious influence, in particular Spyware-modules): when a malicious object has been detected and deleted, the mechanism deletes all references to that object in the system files and in the registry.
Scan IMAP, NNTP, SMTP, POP3 traffic: the program scans all mail in the most widely known mail protocols.
Plug-ins in the Microsoft Outlook and TheBat! mail clients: antivirus plug-ins in Outlook and TheBat! can scan a message before it comes to mail database on the local disc.
Mail attachment filter: allows renaming or deleting attachments of definite types in the messages.
Scan the HTTP traffic: scan the data transferred by the HTTP protocol 'on the spot', prevent your computer from infection before you save files on a local disc.
Custom settings: Web Anti-Virus: allow configurable scan methods: streaming and buffering scan (you can limit fragment buffering time). The user can also set trusted URLs.
Technology to decrease update size: minimizesthe size of downloaded database update by using the incremental updates.
Increased and updated database of objects which is downloaded at system start-up: allows tracing and updating maximum number of objects in the OS, where a malicious code can be located and can be launched automatically at system startup.
Task 'Scan critical areas of the system': scans most important system areas that are usually infected, saving time by scaning critical areas first.
Task 'Scan startup objects': scans startup objects to prevent launching malicious code at system startup.
