Concerning to:
  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations (all builds)
  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers (all builds)
  • Kaspersky Administration Kit 6.0 MP1 (build 6.0.1405)
  • To install Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations with predefined settings, do the following:

    1. first create a settings file named install.cfg.

    2. save a key file and the install.cfg file to a folder with the Anti-Virus distributive, in the same subfolder with the msi-file.

InformationIf the product is managed remotely via Kaspersky Administration Kit, then the Anti-Virus starts working with the necessary settings after the reboot if installed with the settings file (as policy cannot be immediately applied to a client computer). The maximum period of the policy being applied is restricted by the synchronization period of a Network Agent with the Administration Server (this option can be set in the Network Agent policy).

To install the Anti-Virus remotely the file install.cfg should be saved to the exec subfolder of the created installation package. If a key file is not added to an installation package, then the key file can be copied to the exec subfolder. Installation packages reside in the folder Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Administration Kit\Share\Packages

InformationThe settings file to install Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations /Servers can be created with the help of any four products version 6.0:

      • Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0
      • Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0
      • Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations
      • Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers.

If such settings file is laid to Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations /Servers distributive then the settings which are the same for the personal product will be loaded.

InformationThe settings file comprises all working parameters of the components installed in the application. If you need to create a settings file for one component (or several components), on a separate computer install only these components, configure them as you need and save these parameters to a file.

For example, on all computers you have to install Anti-Virus with the same settings for File Anti-Virus and On-demand scan only, in this case you should install only these components, configure them and create a settings file.

Warning Pay attention, the On-demand scan component always installs! Its installation cannot be canceled.

    Creating the settings file

    1. Open the Anti-Virus interface and configure the necessary settings.

    2. Save the created profile under the name install.cfg (Settings > Service > the Save button in the Configuration manager section)

WarningInstall.cfg is a mandatory file name!
