Concerning to:
  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations (all builds)
  • Step 1: If you purchased Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 6.0 on a disc, then the installation process starts automatically after the Setup disc is inserted into the CD-ROM drive. If you have purchased the product in E-Store you get a link to an executable setup file which should be launched manually. If the Setup disc does not run automatically you also need to run the executable installation file manually. For it select a disc and a folder where Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 6.0 setup file is located and double-click the executable file. After you run the executable setup file the Setup Wizard of Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 6.0 is launched. Click Next to continue.

    Step 2: End user license agreement of Kaspersky Lab. Click Next to continue.

    Step 3: Select the folder in which to install Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 6.0. The default destination folder is

    - for Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 MP1/MP2 the folder C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0

    - for Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0 MP1/MP2 the folder C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0

    - for Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations MP2 the folder C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations.

    Click Browse to change the destination folder. Click Next to continue.

    Step 4: choose the setup type that best suits your needs.

    • Complete – all program features will be installed: File, Mail, Web Anti-Viruses, Proactive Defense, Anti-Spy, Anti-Hacker and Anti -Spam
    • Custom - allow users to choose which program features will be installed. 
    • Anti-Virus features – installs anti-virus protection features only: File, Mail and Web Anti-Viruses.

    InformationFor Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 MP1/MP2 the components Anti-Spy, Anti-Hacker and Anti-Spam are not available if either Complete or Custom installation type is selected (these components are not included in the product Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 MP1/MP2).

    Choose the necessary setup type by clicking the corresponding icon.

    InformationIf you choose Custom installation type the Setup Wizards shows the list of components to install.

     

    Step 5: it is recommended to disable Microsoft Windows Firewall. Windows Firewall will be automatically disabled if the Disable Windows Firewall option is selected.

    InformationThe step is applicable to Windows XP Service Pack 2 with the Microsoft Firewall embedded into it. Anti-Hacker option of Kaspersky Internet Secuirty 6.0 MP1/MP2 and of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations MP2 might conflict (by Complete installation) with this software. It is recommended to disable Windows Firewall if the Anti-Hacker option is going to be enabled on this computer.

    Click Next to continue.

    Step 6: on this Step the Setup Wizard defines if other anti-virus software is installed on the PC and prompts for its automatic deletion.

    Step 7: After PC reboot the Setup Wizard continues the installation process. Steps 2-5 should be re-done

    Step 8: the Setup Wizard suggests enabling self-defense of the program and its files. It is recommended to enable the function if you are not sure whether your computer is infected or not. The enabled option protects the processes of files copying and writing values to the registry from viruses. Click Install. The Setup Wizard will copy the necessary files on your hard drive.

    Click Next to continue. The Setup Wizard is launched.

    InformationStep 13 will be skipped, if either Custom or Anti-Virus features installation type was selected when installing Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 6.0 and the Anti-Hacker component was disabled or if you are installing Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 MP1/MP2.

    Step 14: restart your computer to complete installation.

    Click Finish to finish setup.
