  • When you install a Kaspersky Lab application, a special driver is installed into the system. It is necessary to reboot the system for the driver to start functioning. If you do not reboot your PC after installing a Kaspersky Lab application, application components may work incorrectly (the only exceptions are on-demand scan and antivirus database update module).

It is recommended to reboot your PC after upgrading application version or installing a hotfix due to possible replacement of some program modules and application drivers in the process.

It is not necessary to reboot the PC after installing the following applications: Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers (all versions) and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 SOS (all versions). But it is still necessary to reboot the PC after upgrading application version and installing hotfixes.
