Concerning to Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations MP2/MP3 (builds 6.0.2.678 - 6.0.3.837)
Description: On a PC running OS Windows Vista SP1 (or above) with installed and running Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations (builds 6.0.2.678 - 6.0.3.837), Windows Security Center informs that the Malware Protection component status has changed to Not compatible:
Kaspersky Anti-Virus is on but is reporting its status to Windows Security Center in a format that is no longer supported. Use the program’s automatic updating feature, or contact the program manufacturer for an updated version.

Reason: Windows Security Center provides the user with general information about security status of his PC. Data about the security aspect Malware protection level is provided to the Windows Security Center by the installed antivirus software.
Currently this message appears because Windows Security Center has recently changed the processing procedure for antivirus software status data. It means that Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations functions normally and reports its status but does it in the old format that can no longer be processed by Windows Security Center.
This message in no way affects the antivirus protection level of your PC - Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations keeps functioning in standard mode.
Solution: The format of status reporting will be changed in the new version of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations which will soon become available for beta-testing.
At the moment you can use the wollowing ways to solve the issue:
- Install Service Pack 2 for Windows Vista;
or
- Disable Security Center notifications. Open Windows Security Center, expand the Malware Protection section, and click Show me my available options.
After installing a new version of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations, do not forget to enable Windows Security Center reporting the antivirus software status.
