Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations MP2 (version 6.0.2.678, 6.0.2.690

The main application window of Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 6.0 can be conventionally divided into 4 parts: 

• Upper part of the window 
• Right part of the window 
• Left part of the window 
• Informational part of the window

Upper part of the window - displays the logotype (the full name) of the installed product, and two menu links:

• Settings - click this link to go to the product settings window
• Help – click the link to go to the product help window

Left part of the window – guides you to three main program’s support tools: Protection, Scan and Service.

The Protection section consists of the following number of components (menu points): 

• File Anti-Virus 
• Mail Anti-Virus 
• Web Anti-Virus 
• Proactive Defense 
• Anti-Spy
• Anti-Hacker 
• Anti-Spam

Note: If you changed the list of the components to install when installing the application the components may differ from those mentioned above. This article contains complete list of components.

The Scan section consists of the three menu points: 

• Critical Areas
• My Computer 
• Startup Objects

The Service section consists of the five menu points:

• Update 
• Update distribution 
• Data Files 
• Rescue Disk
• Support

Right part of the window displays information and settings for each section and menu point. The following information is available for the Protection section and its components: 

• Protection status – the number of scanned objects, release date of the signatures, state of the protection services
• Summary for each component. 
• Statistics for each component 
• State (setting) of each component

For the Scan section and the menus Critical areas, My Computer and Startup Objects the following data are available in the right part of the window: 

• on-demand scan settings 
• on-demand scan statistics 
• list of folders\hard drives for on-demand scan 
• start\stop\pause of on-demand scan 
• actions over infected\suspicious objects

Product Info, System info and License info are shown in the Service section in the right part of the window

For each menu point of the Service section in the right part of the window the following data\options are available: 

• Update – Settings, Statistics, Start\Stop\Pause of the update task 

• Update distribution - Settings, Statistics, Start\Stop\Pause the task of copying signature threats and application modules to a local folder 

This menu point is not available in Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 MP2, Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0 MP2, Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Widnwos Workstations MP2 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Widnows Servers.

• Data Files – Reports, Quarantine and Backup objects 

• Rescue Disk - information about minimal requirements to create a rescue disk and to start rescue disk creation wizard. 

Tip: this menu point is not available in Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers

• Support - General information about Kaspersky Lab Technical Support, links to Kaspersky Lab forum, Frequently Asked Questions, HelpDesk Web-form of Kaspersky Lab Technical Support.

Informational part of the window gives prompts which actions\tasks for Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations to perform and links to the task settings to configure and start the necessary task.
