To create a rescue disk with the help of Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 6.0, install the PE Builder program. This program allows creating an image of the rescue disk using the setup disc of Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2.
To install PE Builder, do the following:
- Open the main application window
- Go to the Service tab
- Click Rescue disk
- in the right part of the window click PE Builder to download the distributive from the official vendor's site
- Download and save manually on the computer the distributive of PE Builder version 3.1.3 or higher.
- Run the PE Builder setup file
- In the Welcome to the PE Builder Setup Wizard window click the Next button to install PE Builder
- Select the destination folder and click Next
- Select the Start Menu folder into which the shortcuts of the program will be created. Click Next.
- Disable the option if you do not want to create a desktop icon and click Next.
- Click the Install button and the setup wizard copies the necessary files to the hard drive
- Uncheck Launch PE Builder, if you do not want to launch the program immediately. Click the Finish button.
After it PE Builder program will be installed on your computer. Having installed PE Builder you can start creating a rescue disc using Kaspersky Anti-virus version 6.0  The dialog windows of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0, Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 MP1, Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0, Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0 MP1 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations are the same but with the corresponding product names and the number of Protection components
