  • Dialers dial-up programs that connect to expensive pay-per-minute phone lines (often porno-resources). They do not harm the system directly but by careless or ill-intentioned usage may lead to financial loss for the owner of the telephone from which the number is dialed up.

    There are two varieties of dialer programs:

  • The first type classified as Trojans has been developed to be installed secretly in the system and to connect to Internet through high-cost phone numbers (i.e. they are used by violators).

  • Dialer-programs of the second type inform the user about coming actions, let you know the rates, can be deinstalled, etc. This type of dialers is referred to as 'dangerous' software.
