Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations (all builds)
The reasons why the Anti-Spam component does not use RBL are given below:
- RBL is server-oriented
- The RBL service functions slowly (using DNS-queries)
- The IP-addresses of the addressee can be correctly checked on the SMTP-server only
- IP-address of the addressee cannot be detected by personal anti-spam
- No one is responsible for the information in public RBL
- RBL is used as the means of a competition
- Your provider or your recipient network can get into RBL implementation
- User cannot delete the blocked address from RBL. Most of the RBL services communicate to providers only, but ignore queries of common users.
- Home user does not have the information which RBL service to trust.
