Real-time protection statuses in Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 5.0 can have the following values:
- Running (recommended) – the status is given if each real-time protection component is running* with the settings of the Recommended level.
- Running (maximum protection) – the status is given if each real-time protection component is running* with the settings of the Maximum protection level
- Running (high speed) – the status is given if each real-time protection component is running with the settings of the High speed level.
- Running (with custom settings) – the status is given if at least one real-time protection component is running or settings of one (or all) launched components differ from the pre-defined protection levels.
- Paused – this status is given if all real-time protection components are not running and one of them is paused. This status can only be granted to Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 for Windows File Servers as it can be run from the command line only.
- Stopped – the status is given if all real-time protection components are stopped.
* - shows real-time protection components which are running, i.e. whose start has not been canceled.
Real-time protection statuses in Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 6.0 can have the following values:
- Running - the status is given if at least one real-time protection component is running
- Stopped – the status is given if all real-time protection components are stopped
- Paused - the status is given if at least one real-time protection component is paused (Pause), and other components are not running (are either paused or stopped).
- Failed – the status is given if work or start of any real-time protection component failed
