Concerning to Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 for Windows Workstations 5.0.527 - 5.0.712
After installing Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 for Windows Workstations you can scan your computer for viruses and malicious programs by launching a predefined on-demand scan task. By default after installing Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 for Windows Workstations the following on-demand scans are created and can be launched:
- Scan My Computer: performs full computer scan for malicious codes. The on-demand scan task starts automatically every Friday at 8:00pm.
- Scan removable drives: performs full scan of the PC removable drives. The automatic start of the on-demand scan is not set.
- Scan critical areas: scans critically important areas of your PC: system memory, startup objects, disk boot sectors, the Windows folder, the System 32 folder. The automatic start of the on-demand scan is not set.
- Scan Quarantine: scans quarantined objects with the current set of anti-virus databases. The automatic start of the on-demand scan is not set.
- Scan at the system startup: the scan performed by Kaspersky Anti-Virus at the system startup. The automatic start of the on-demand scan is set to start when Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 for Windows Workstations is started.
Each task can be launched manually: select the necessary task and click the Run button, or change the task settings (the task starting time, the list of the scanned objects, the parameters of the account under which the task will run), by clicking the Properties button. To start working with the predefined tasks, do the following:
- Go to Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 for Windows Workstations > Settings > On-Demand Scan tasks
- Select the necessary task in the open window
- Make the necessary changes or run the task
- Minimize the Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 for Windows Workstations main window
