Kaspersky Lab has released Critical Fix 1 (CF1) for Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 for Windows Workstations. After its installation the full version number is 5.0.712.
New version of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 MP5 for Windows Workstations CF1 can be
downloaded from the Kaspersky Lab sites.
Changed:
1. The updates speed has been improved.
2. The ability to use the environment variables in the path when specifying trusted processes using Kaspersky Administration Kit has been added.
3. The ability to manually specify the name and the path to a trusted process using Kaspersky Administration Kit has been added; the hash of the trusted application will be calculated first time it runs.
4. Display of excluded trusted processes details has been added to the real-time protection task report.
5. The "Use general list of exclusions" box is now checked automatically when an exclusion is added from the dialog box with the notification about detection of an infected or a suspicious object.
6. Policies are now applied to the settings of the user object scan tasks and of scan tasks run from the command line and Windows shortcut menu.
7. A new action has been added for processing infected objects during the on-demand scan and real-time protection tasks - "Disinfect, delete if disinfection fails". When this action is chosen objects of the “not-a-virus” type are now deleted.
When the “Recommended” action is chosen objects of the “not-a-virus” type are skipped.
8. A new action has been added for processing suspicious objects during the on-demand scan and real-time protection tasks - "Quarantine".
9. Information about completion of the full computer scan in the main application window is now displayed not only for the My Computer object, but also for the object it consists of.
Corrected:
1. Error due to which the system tray icon visibility settings could not be saved has been fixed.
2. Error in the application installation wizard due to which the installation of the "Use iStreams™ technology" was controlled by the script monitoring task checkbox has been fixed.
3. Error that sometimes caused incorrect display of the backup key expiration date has been fixed.
4. Disknetpro incompatibility error has been fixed.
5. Error that caused the application to fail when viewing the quarantine containing a file with a long name (multiply-nested archives) has been fixed.
6. Error that was slowing down the profile loading during the application start-up has been fixed.
7. Error due to which the exclusions settings did not apply when loaded during the first use of a policy has been fixed.
8. Error due to which the "Virus detected" event for password-protected archives could not be delivered to the Kaspersky Administration Kit Administration Server during the scan with delayed objects processing has been fixed.
9. Error due to which objects could not be restored from the quarantine using the Kaspersky Administration Kit when the "Confirm path before restoring" setting was selected has been fixed.
10. Error due to which the zero size for the files on the computers running Windows 9x was displayed incorrectly in the Kaspersky Administration Kit quarantine storage has been fixed.
Known problems:

Anti-virus database rollback is only possible after the anti-virus database update procedure has been run twice.

Network attack protection component is not compatible with OpenVPN.

If the "Automatically determine the proxy server settings" setting was selected, the username and the password saved in Microsoft Internet Explorer are not used for the proxy server authorization.
