Concerning to:
  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0\6.0 for Windows Workstations (all versions)
  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0\6.0 for Windows File Servers (all versions)
  • MicroSoft does not recommend you use concurrently the programs working with the array of files (including programs of backup copying and defragmentation), because the programs of backup copying may change internal file attributes during the work (guide-mark of presence on the disc or copying guide-mark) and the defragmentation programs start scanning them for changes.

The result of the co-work is often “freeze” or delay of the working process with the file array.

That is why Kaspersky Lab recommend you switch off antivirus monitoring (real-time file protection) during the operations with the file system, and reminds that such operations should be done at maximal protection level with the computer disconnected either from LAN or Internet.
