Concerning to Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition
Kaspersky Labs experts strongly do not recommend downloading databases for the application from the Kaspersky Labs sites manually! As a rule such attempts result in errors due to update sets mistiming.
The application cannot be updated from ZIP archives either.
If the protected server has no access to the Internet then the anti-virus databases and patches can be updated the following ways:
- via Kaspersky Administration Kit.
To update the databases implement Kaspersky Administration Kit in the corporate logical network and add Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition to the logical network. The Anti-Virus would download new databases and patches from the centralized source in the logical network as soon they are downloaded and saved in the shared folder.
- via another server with Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition installed.
For it:
1. On another protected server configure the task Update distribution
- As an update source choose Kaspersky Lab’s update servers.
- Choose the update distribution settings. if you are planning to update Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition from this folder only, then mark Copy application databases updates and critical application modules updates
- Browse the folder into which the downloaded updates should be saved. The default folder is C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Kaspersky Lab\KAV for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition\6.0\Update\Distribution\.
- on the Connection settings tab define the proxy parameters if necessary.
2. Share this folder.
3. In the update task of the server that does not have access to the Internet as an update source define the folder into which another server copies the databases and patches.
- via the computer with Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations or Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers.
For it:
1. In the update task of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations / Servers configure the option Copy to folder:
2. Share this folder.
3. On the server with the installed Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition define this shared folder as an update source.
Pay attention that with such update method the Anti-Virus on the protected server will get updates of anti-virus databases only. Application patches for Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers are not downloaded by other applications!
